Stories the Healthcare System Tried to Bury
The LymeLads Podcast was born from personal experience. PatchMaster Mike—like so many others—faced years of misdiagnosis, medical gaslighting, and the devastating toll of untreated Lyme disease.
For too long, patients have been told their suffering is “in their heads.” He's here to change that narrative—one episode at a time.
Our mission is simple: to provide a platform for the Lyme community. Each week, we bring you honest, powerful conversations with patients, advocates, and experts who have navigated this complex and frustrating illness. This is where we share the stories of survival, resilience, and the ongoing fight for accurate diagnosis and recognition.
Meet the LymeLads
Mike turned years of pain, confusion, and misdiagnosis into purpose. He created LymeLads to uncover the truth, share untold stories, and bring light to a disease the system continues to overlook.
PatchMaster Mike –
The Advocate
Mike’s battle began at just 8 years old when he was bitten by a tick and developed the classic bulls-eye rash. Because of six negative CDC-criteria tests, he went over 20 years without antibiotics and now has relentless musculoskeletal pain, arthritis, and neurological issues—including uncontrollable adrenaline surges and heart pain.

The Truth Behind the Test: Systemic Failure & The Lyme Crisis

The 50% Problem
We break down why the current CDC-approved two-tier testing protocol is estimated to be only 50% accurate—leading to massive underreporting and misdiagnosis. Behind every false negative is a human story of suffering, loss, and delayed treatment.

A History of Suppression
Each episode explores the paper trail of suppressed scientific research and buried documents, highlighting institutional resistance that has allowed the epidemic to grow unchecked since 1975.
“The Quiet Epidemic reveals that the CDC’s Lyme test criteria were altered in the 1990s to accommodate the LYMErix vaccine—reducing sensitivity to avoid false positives in vaccinated individuals. Though the vaccine was pulled in 2002, these flawed standards remain in place today.”
